Oxyvenation course
Oxyvenation improves blood flow in the small vessels and eases chronic inflammation. It stimulates the release of prostacyclin, a mediator that widens the vessels and makes the platelets less sticky.
What oxyvenation sets off in the body
I give medical oxygen slowly and in a controlled way through a venous line, straight into the blood. This stimulus prompts the body to form substances that reduce inflammation, promote circulation and widen the vessels. More blood and oxygen then reach all organs throughout the body, and allergic as well as inflammatory stimuli ease.
Where I use oxyvenation
I use an oxyvenation course when a disturbed microcirculation or a chronic inflammation is responsible for your symptoms. That is often the case in:
- Peripheral arterial disease (claudication, “window-shopping disease”, smoker’s leg)
- Atherosclerosis
- Cardiac arrhythmias
- Hypertensive heart disease
- Coronary heart disease
- Pulmonary hypertension
- Tinnitus and sudden hearing loss
- Allergies and asthma
- Immune deficiency
- Oedema
- Chronic inflammation
- Impaired wound healing and lower-leg ulcer
- Macular degeneration and glaucoma
- Chronic muscle tension
- Depression
Over a course of about six weeks, an improvement of the symptoms is to be expected.
How a session runs
You lie comfortably. A dosing device delivers the medical oxygen slowly into the vein, usually one to two millilitres per minute. During the application I pay attention to how you feel, and to pulse and blood pressure. As an effect of this stimulus therapy, one may temporarily feel pressure in the chest, an urge to cough, headache or tiredness.
Where the method comes from
Oxyvenation was developed by Dr. Helmut Regelsberger. He described how a small amount of oxygen in the vein triggers the formation of prostacyclin and thereby improves blood flow in the small vessels.
